Case Study: Persollo x The Hunger Project


Over the past couple of weeks, Persollo has partnered and worked with The Hunger Project in a social initiative called 'Unleashed Women'. We're really proud of this campaign, and would love to keep you informed and up-to-date with our progress so far.

So, who are we?

Let's start from the beginning - hopefully you already know a little bit about us and what we do. In case you don't, here is a quick run through of the involved companies within this campaign:

Persollo is essentially a startup striving to solve the problem of low conversion rates in online and social media sales. We do this through our instant checkout technology backed by data and artificial intelligence, alongside running the instant checkout Influencer campaigns to create brand awareness and generate real sales.

The Hunger Project is a global, non-profit, strategic organisation committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. Their vision is a world where every woman, man and child leads a healthy, fulfilling life of self-reliance and dignity.

What is the Unleashed Women campaign about?

We were extremely excited to join this campaign as it takes us one step closer to unleashing the potential of great women in underprivileged countries. Ultimately, the Unleashed Women campaign aims to become a global movement empowering women to end hunger.

The Hunger Project describes this initiative as follows:

"Our goal is to raise $200,000 reaching 160,000 women to end hunger and poverty in their communities. We do this through improving maternal and child health, ending child marriage, keeping girls in school, and micro-finance support. The movement was created to unleash the potential of women to make a difference in the world."

How are we helping?

At Persollo, we always try be a part of positive social change - and we believe we can do this by helping out with what we do best.

Firstly, we've integrated our instant checkout platform with the Unleashed Women campaign in the hopes of improving the money raised for the cause. With our prior experience, we've found that our own technology has the power to increase conversion rates by over 300%, and generate real sales, fast. Take a look at what we've created below:

Another factor we think is super effective for the success of this campaign is the involvement of social media and amazing influencers. Social media is already a great avenue to push a positive message, and pairing it with the power of Influencers can truly take it to an extra mile. Influencers have the ability to reach a wide and passionate audience, and are thus able to captivate and empower people to lend a helping hand. With these inspiring individuals at play, The Hunger Project is able to raise awareness about the core issue whilst also actively generating donations towards this great cause.

This project has proved remarkable so far. The use of the #UnleashedWomen hashtag over Instagram has broadcasted the importance of eliminating this issue, and has further highlighted the t-shirt available for purchase (with all proceeds contributing towards the campaign itself). We began the campaign with 94 women willing to promote this initiative - this has since spread to over 231 posts. Here are some examples:

We hope our involvement within this campaign has made a positive difference to The Hunger Project's mission. Any donation - large or small - has the potential to change lives for under-privileged women. These include a wide range of impacts, ranging from funding adult literacy education for women, to training an Elected Woman in India into becoming an effective local council member
