As always we try to keep you up to date with the latest news from Instagram. Here are the new Instagram features you do not wanna miss!
Reels updates.
In a new update Instagram Reels have doubled the length of videos, allowing users to make 30-second videos instead of 15 seconds. There is now an option for users to extend the timer to 10 seconds when recording. Trim and editing tools have been added as well.
Instagram Stories Map.
Instead of just scrolling through your past stories in the "Archive" section, you can now view stories you’ve shared in the last 3 years (when you’ve used a location sticker) through a private Insta map and calendar customized just for you. The "Archive" is private, visible only to you, but there’s an option to re-share them publicly on your profile or stories feed. This feature Instagram has announced as it celebrates its 10th anniversary!
New Way to DM (direct messages).
With this new feature you can:
change your chat color;
react with any emoji instead of the standard set offered today;
swipe to reply to messages;
create selfie stickers and decorate your own photo to use a sticker;
chat with people who use Facebook and no app download needed;
add message effects (animated send effects soon).
They’re rolling out these new features in a few countries around the world, and they'll expand globally soon.
Bullying Prevention feature.
New feature allows automatically hiding comments that are similar to other comments that have already been reported as inappropriate. These comments will still be visible under the label “View Hidden Comments” – as they haven’t been flagged by the moderators, should you want to see what’s been removed from the main comment feed.
IGTV captioning.
Now Instagram IGTV users have the option to turn on automatic captions for their videos. The captions will first be available in 16 languages.
