Persollo: Describe yourself in 5 words

Vesn: Loyal, compassionate, independent, meticulous, genuine.

P: Tell us shortly how did you start your way in the world of social?

V: I started our account as a personal diary of our travel, showing that solo parent's can also travel. I never intended to grow it to over 10k or to become an influencer.

P: When did you realize that you have your tribe (kinda woke up famous)?

V: When I started getting messages from followers from around the world asking me for tips on editing photos, my inspiration for my photos and tips on traveling with kids. Also when I got an email for my first collaboration which was a travel related item.

P: When did you have your 1st collaboration (paid or barter)? How many followers did you have back then?

V: My first collaboration was 10 months ago, I had approximately 8,000 followers.

P: Your best and worst collaboration experiences and why (you don’t have to call the name of brand)

V: All have been positive as I only do collaborations which I will suit my account and I truly believe in. In saying that, there have been some times when companies have asked to reword my caption, I really don't like that as its not from my perspective.

P: Who makes photos for you? How do you edit your pictures?

V: I usually set up a tripod or take them myself. My eldest son wants to be a photographer so I also allow him to take photos and teach him some tips along the way.

I edit my photos using snapseed and lightroom.

P: You think pictures or captions are more important?

V: Both equally. The photos do grab the attention first, however my captions are always informative and give my followers something to take back with them.

P: How do you cope with negative comments or critique on your social accounts?

V: I believe everyone has the right to have an opinion. I will always return a negative comment with a kind one.

P: How to become an influencer — your personal recipe, given the hot new social trends.

V: Believe in yourself. Find a niche and stick to it. Engagement is key, engage with your followers, when they comment, respond and go give them some love back in their posts. See what posts gain you the highest insights and do a few more of them. Listen to what your followers are saying.
